Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

(Data appear as originally submitted by this school)
Full-time program
The UConn MBA Program admits only the best and brightest MBA candidates from all around the world. The admissions committee gives careful consideration to each applicant and focuses on all sections of the application to learn more about the individual.
Executive program
Admission into UConn's Executive MBA Program is highly competitive. The most important criterion for admission into UConn's EMBA Program is work experience quantity and quality. The minimum requirement is only 5 years; however the class average is typically more than ten years.
Part-time program
Admission to the UConn part-time MBA programs located in Hartford, Stamford and Waterbury is highly selective. It is based on three primary criteria: years and quality of work experience; prior academic performance, as demonstrated by grade point averages in undergraduate as well as prior graduate coursework; and performance on the GMAT test.
Part-time distance learning program
For admission consideration into UConn's online MS in Accounting program (MSA), applicants must have an undergraduate degree and completed eight accounting courses (financial accounting, managerial accounting, intermediate accounting I & II, US federal income tax, cost accounting, advanced accounting, and assurance services).

Curricula Descriptions

(Data appear as originally submitted by this school)
Full-time program
The UConn MBA Program has initiated a major career-centric curriculum redesign, allowing our students to develop an individualized plan of study based on their long-term career objectives. While students can still pursue a traditional concentration, the new curriculum allows them to develop a more specialized plan of study within these broader disciplines, differentiating them in the marketplace.
Executive program
UConn's Executive MBA Program reflects the latest trends in management education. It incorporates those areas that are essential for future managerial success including Teamwork, Global Economy, Communication Skills, and Integration of Concepts. Participants learn to view problems broadly, rather than relating them to a single function or industry.
Part-time program
Flexibility and adaptability are key features of UConn's part-time MBA Program curriculum, enabling students to design individualized programs to suit their personal and professional needs. Working MBA students move through the curriculum at a pace that is comfortable for them. They take one to two three-credit courses per semester (fall, spring & summer) and typically graduate in three years.
Part-time distance learning program
UConn's online MSA Program provides students with the skill set critical to achieve a successful professional career in public and private accounting. The 30-credit program allows qualified students to meet the 150-hour educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in most states. The dynamic online community supports information literacy, which is the basis for lifelong learning.
